Handling the aftermath of an accident on your own is adding insult to injury.

We are here to make sure you are taken care of.

On March 16, a multi-vehicle crash occurred just before Georgia State Route 317, L'ville-Suwanee Road. According to police, at least 10 vehicles were involved in the crash, including a tractor trailer.

Two of the vehicles were overturned and one driver had to be removed from a vehicle by fire and emergency services. The driver sustained a serious head injury and was transported to the hospital. Other drivers also suffered injuries.

Common Causes of Multi-Vehicle Accidents

Multi-vehicle accidents often cause more severe injuries and complex issues. These accidents make it more difficult to determine who is at-fault. Here are the most common causes of multi-vehicle accidents.

  • Speeding. Unfortunately, not all drivers follow the speed limit. They may be in a hurry to get somewhere or may not pay attention to the posted speed limits. Driving too fast can lower their reaction times and even cause them to lose control of their vehicle. Speeding is one the most common causes of multi-vehicle collisions.
  • Distracted driving. Drivers are faced with many distractions when they head out on the road each day. They may read and reply to text messages, change the radio station or even groom themselves. These actions can take their eyes off the road and hands off the wheel, increasing the risk of a multi-vehicle collision.
  • Drunk driving. The dangers of drunk driving are well-known. However, that does not stop all drivers from driving under the influence of alcohol. Drunk drivers have impaired judgment and lower reaction times, so they are more likely to cause a multi-vehicle accident.
  • Bad weather. Some multi-vehicle accidents result from bad weather conditions.  Heavy rain, for example, can reduce visibility and make the road slippery, so drivers can lose control of their vehicles. That is why drivers should try to avoid driving in bad weather if possible. If they must go out during poor weather conditions, they should slow down their speeds and pay extra careful attention to the road.

Getting Legal Assistance After a Multi-Vehicle Accident

If you have recently been injured in a multi-vehicle accident, you may want to speak with a Lawrenceville, GA car accident lawyer. It can be particularly difficult to establish fault in a multi-vehicle crash, so it is wise to have an experienced lawyer on your side. He or she will investigate your claim and help you gather the evidence you need to prove your case. Your lawyer will handle negotiations with the insurance company and look out for your best interests.

During your initial consultation, be prepared to answer multiple questions about your case, such as when and where the accident occurred and who was involved. If you have documents pertaining to your case, like a police report or medical records, you should bring them with you. The more information your lawyer has to go on, the better.
